Celebrating Connection and Generosity Today (and everyday 🙂 <3 ) * There are so many ways to give! Even if it may not be feasible to give financially sometimes, we can give with our smiles, our words, our creations, our time, our hugs, our love and kindness.

I’ll be “abandoning” some inspirational art cards in public places for others to find today, among giving in other ways.  Our small town even has a food bank and many local businesses accept donations for it.

I’m also preparing the Loving Rd monthly give-away for December by working on a mini creative e-course/project (no art experience necessary!) to be given to all those that choose to receive it.  Simply add your email to the Loving Rd address book to get access when it’s ready later this month!

Yesterday, I learned that a project I contributed to in a small way last year (thanks to artist Tamara LaPorte) helped to build a new well for clean drinking water. As a wise reminder from a book recently read states: “Remember, even water dripping on a rock can make a difference.” (from the book ‘Grandmothers counsel the world’ compiled by Carol Schaefer)

Another cause close to my heart (having been sexually abused as a child) and relatively close to home is Thistle Farms founded by Becca Stevens. I learned about this from Becca’s book, Snake Oil.  The non-profit, Thistle Farms, is dedicated to giving women a second chance. At Thistle Farms, women, many of whom were being trafficked and abused on the streets of Nashville, use oils to create lotions, soaps, candles, and other products. Their stories pull the heart strings!

Our kids enjoy choosing animals to give to families/communities, usually chickens or rabbits since we have tended both of those ourselves as well.

While I appreciate and support many charitable causes like the ones above, there are so many ways that we might give creatively, personally, close to and in our homes as well. I’m sharing a few ways I’ve chosen to give in case it might empower others to find unique ways that speak to their own hearts.  Sometimes, that might even be giving ourselves a moment of stillness, which may, in turn, encourage others that it’s okay to do so or enable us to be more open and kind.

And, sometimes, what we have to give is actually our attention and receptivity so that others may give. <3  Thank *YOU* for allowing me to share and give from the heart via this blog!

Today has been deemed ‘Giving Tuesday’ by someone so I’m gladly participating. 🙂 <3

Love this little pearl of wisdom discovered today while reading an article about the Danish custom/idea of hygge, “when we replace “I” with “we”, even illness becomes wellness.”

May we be blessed with generosity. <3
