So thrilled to be Celebrating Life & the Art of Gratitude with 8 other lovely artists.

I’ll be featuring an interview and info about each artist’s creative projects leading up to the start of the e-course on October 4th.  Lara Cornell is today’s featured artist and has the joy of offering the content and projects for the fourth week of the course.

What are you most grateful for?
My family. I have an incredibly supportive and understanding husband who knows how to ground me but also encourages me to spread my wings and follow my intuition. I also have three children ages 3,7 and 8 who challenge me every day in so many ways. They are at the ages where they ask a lot of questions, and a lot of them related to what they see in the world around them. They are wise beyond their years. They are also incredibly happy to tell people that their mama is an artist and it makes me tear up every time. The whole package is what I have dreamed of.

How do you prefer to show your gratitude?
I’m a hugger. A lot of the time I can’t seem to find the right words to express my gratitude and sometimes words aren’t enough anyway. So I hug.

What are your favorite fall season traditions?
Fall is absolutely gorgeous in Minnesota and it’s by far my favorite season. I redecorate the house in fall colors, bring out cozy blankets, and more throw pillows, and harvest scented candles. I adore going to apple orchards with my family. There are quite a few in Minnesota.

Do you have any favorite fall season art/crafts/etc…
For me, fall is all about gold. I crave gold leaf, gold foil, gold pens, gold paint, gold glitter…. I think of something new to “attack” each year!

Why did you decide to be part of this group of artists for this project?
How could I say “no”?! Living life with gratitude and expressing it through art speaks to my soul.

Week 4 * Intuitive Gratitude with Lara Cornell Oct. 25-31st

We will throw all caution to the wind, release all negative thoughts, and jump in with no plan this week! It’s all about intuition, flow, gratitude, a child-like curiosity and desire to just play.

In this class we will start by making background layers with inks, experimenting with how they flow around the page and how the colors blend (should you choose to use more than one color) and how they react with water. I highly recommend you do more than one at a time so you don’t feel pressure. It’s just about playing and not worrying about the outcome.

Then we’ll add papers and tap into our inner child for guidance (a helpful tip, if you happen to have children in your life, ask them!), and start doodling/drawing on the paper.

We will also be using pinterest to build an inspirational quote library to add to your piece to make it uniquely yours (if you don’t have pinterest, google searching would be just fine as well).

Leave the inner critics out of it and let’s just have fun!     Join us now

Lara and I are members of many the same online artists groups and I always love seeing what she’s creating!  It’s been a blessing to get to know her better while collaborating on this project.  I’m really looking forward to creating an intuitive painting along with Lara and the participants of the course.  I absolutely love the quote she chose for her finished painting above.  I have found it to be the case in my own life… adding a wonderful touch a magic to the world! 🙂

Every one is invited and welcome to join us to creatively celebrate life through the art of gratitude!  No prior art experience is necessary.  The course content will be available for a full 6 months so plenty of time to play and explore all the great projects!  Want to experience the fun and magic of creativity and the joy that an attitude of gratitude nurtures in your life?!  Know someone that would appreciate the gift of gratitude and creativity?  We’d be so very grateful to have you and your friends join us here. <3

Her art, photography and line of yoga products can be found in shops and galleries around the world, as well as online in her Etsy shop and on Society6.

For 2015-16, Lara plans to start teaching workshops encompassing her yoga therapy and meditation training, her flower essence practitioner training, and intuitive art style. She also plans to start working on her own book.
