Wise words for this Wednesday from my angel momma, Paulette, kind of her version of the golden rule, namaste, and ubuntu. Today would have been her 67th birthday and my family and I miss her so very much! Yet, we are so thankful for her love that continues to shine on, in, and through us. Thank you, Mom, for all the unconditional love you showered us with through the years… so much that we can still feel it. I miss your laughter and the sparkle in your eyes and your smile and your hugs, but I know that your love is always with us. For my kids’ 3rd birthday, I had asked family to write a little card with advice for the next generation. This is the card that my mom wrote.
This is why I started Loving Rd in memory of this loving woman, my mom, Paulette Sears, to carry on her legacy of love for others, nature, and life. <3 Also, I needed a way to create something beautiful from the heartache and find a way to choose joy because I know she would have wanted us to. Thankfully, art showed up in my life as a way to process the emotions and pray/meditate and choose loving energy. This is one of the first things I created after she died when I decided to start PAS it on (that became Loving Rd) and make cards (though this was never turned into a card). It came to me more than me creating it… it felt like a healing message from beyond. I had been looking for the word ‘respect’ in the dictionary to use on a card in tribute to my mom’s quote (from the card pictured above), then the word ‘rest’ caught my attention and it evolved from there… including the free energy finale of sorts that informed me she was indeed free.
Art can be a connection to the mystery beyond our understanding, to the divine, to ourselves, to a loving energy, and even a guide of sorts. Whether we make the art or experience the messages in art that others have made, art can be full of a healing, loving energy. I’m grateful to have my mom’s love and example still encouraging and inspiring me and my creative efforts.
May we all give to others and respect their feelings and be loved and respected in return.
